Lachlan Vintage Village

The Lachlan Vintage Village is a property on the Newell Highway in Forbes NSW Australia.

The Village is no longer open to the public and the buildings are no longer available for hire.

In July 2017 the Village was sold to the Forbes Shire Council. The property presents some unique opportunities for land use and development.

The Lachlan Vintage Village has frontage to the Newell Highway which is a major road corridor between Brisbane and Melbourne. Forbes is 360km from Sydney, 772km from Melbourne, 1,029km from Brisbane and 1,049km from Adelaide.

The Lachlan Vintage Village is on 73 hectares of land (about 180 acres) which consists of a number of individual lots. The former tourist attraction has closed but there remains on the property a number of ageing buildings.

Forbes has a population of about 9,000 and the Forbes Shire Council has recently introduced a new Local Environmental Plan (LEP). A man-made canal skirts the property.
